What SpikeDesk does
SpikeDesk is an independent F&O analytics dashboard for Indian equity derivative markets. It ingests publicly available data from NSE and surfaces:
- Volume & delivery anomalies — stocks trading at unusual activity levels vs their 20-day baseline;
- Open-interest patterns — long build-up, short build-up, long unwinding, short covering;
- Options flow — PCR, max-pain, writer skew;
- Technical indicators — RSI, moving-average momentum, breakout proximity;
- ML-scored pattern probabilities — calibrated, out-of-sample-validated scores (AUC ~0.53 on purged K-fold CV).
All of this is information you could reconstruct yourself by reading the NSE bhavcopy — SpikeDesk just does it fast, every trading day, in one place.
What SpikeDesk does not do
- We do not provide investment advice, stock tips or research recommendations.
- We do not manage money or execute trades.
- We do not guarantee profits. Past patterns do not guarantee future outcomes.
- We are not a SEBI-registered Research Analyst, Investment Adviser, Portfolio Manager or Broker.
Who operates SpikeDesk
SpikeDesk is operated by Jiten Suresh Patel (Sole Proprietor), based in Kalyan, Maharashtra, India. It is a personal software project built to study market microstructure — now offered as a subscription so that independent traders can share the tooling.
Methodology & transparency
The ML model is a Gradient Boosting Classifier trained on 48 engineered features via purged K-fold cross-validation with isotonic calibration. Labels use triple-barrier relative-to-NIFTY outperformance. Tuned via Optuna. Retrained weekly. The model achieves out-of-sample AUC of ~0.52–0.53 — modest, but meaningfully above random. All scores are blended 30% ML + 70% rules-based to avoid over-reliance on the model.
